For his second series, Outside, comprised of photographs taken in Hong Kong, Ortega draws out the experience of the stranger or outsider. In an urban context with an oppressive architecture, the artist sees in the ubiquitous fog a metaphor of his own presence in this place – a certain distance and suspicious voyeurisme in regard to people who remain a mystery.
